The COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine have put food security and the resilience of the global food system at the center of the political agenda. They have shown what a complex and multifaceted subject food production is.

Food is first and foremost the result of the activities and efforts of farmers and the food industry. Food also means traditions and connection with nature, reflecting at the same time cultural differences among different geographical areas. With this event we want to reflect on the conclusions of the Conference on the Future of Europe on sustainable food production and consumption and to show concrete examples of high quality, local and sustainably produced food.

The event has two parts: a short introduction and a gourmet tasting of variety of regional traditional products from Romania. We will have the pleasure to hear:

  • Dacian Cioloș - Member of the European Parliament;

  • Norbert Lins - Chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development;

  • Pierre Bascou - Director for markets at Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development;

  • George Cățean - Farmer, former State Secretary for Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania.

Thank you for the delicious products:
